Mr. & Mrs. Lehman | Mountains in a Corn Field- A Crimson Lane Wedding

I have not really discussed much about the global pandemic that rocked the world and knocked the wedding industry to it’s knees other than intimately with my couples. I don’t plan to spend really anytime talking about it here.

But Lana & Keith were just one of my couples greatly affected by this pandemic. Their dreams of a Colorado Mountain Wedding quickly became a big question. They held out hope to share in an a small intimate wedding ceremony with their closest family and friends with a large open house reception a few months later. But with Colorado state guidelines for weddings being so unknown just barely a week before they were set to say I do, Lana & Keith made the gut wrenching decision to cancel their destination wedding and plan something here at home.

That’s when their incredible planner, Aspen of Aspen Jean Planning got to work creating Lana & Keith’s vision for a modern wedding, cocktail style reception at Crimson Lane. What a magnificent job she did!

Frances Floral Design created an absolute master piece for the ceremony space and teamed up with Aspen & Crimson Lane to give Lana & Keith a beautiful “snow capped” mountain range to accent their reception space! Seeing Lana & Keith see that for the first time had my eyes filled with tears!

The size of their wedding grew in number, but so did the amount of love that surrounded them. Change after change, including a forecasted rainy day did not damper their moods. I walked in as the storms rolled in worried I was going to be greeted with a little heart ache. Far from it! Lana & Keith were both BEAMING! Smiles as wide as they could get! It was their day, no matter where, no matter how!

The rain cooled off what had been a weeks worth of 90 degree days and the sunshine popped in and out all day to really make for the perfect wedding day weather! As the ceremony space began filling with friends and family, Lana lined up ready to make her way down the aisle. I noticed a quiet, full rain started to fall.

When I got married, it rained alllllll day. My grandma told me that it was my mom’s tears raining down, heart broken she couldn’t be there. As cheesy as it sounds, I believed it. I think the same is true for Lana’s day. Her mother’s photo displayed on a table in the front, I noticed how much Lana looks like her. Two women of beauty.

Lana and Keith had the most perfect wedding party! Their kids, and grandkids! It was a celebration, a blended family they became. The girls wore champagne colored dresses and the guys had blue suits. We jetted off for a few pictures and jumped the reception off with dances outside surrounded by everyone!

The reception was cocktail style, a casual arrangement with modern lounge areas for people to relax! Food stations filled with all the things delicious!

I don’t think I saw Keith and Lana without the biggest smile all night. This was the perfect example that love wins. No matter the changes, the struggles, the disappointment they felt that their plans didn’t go as planned- it didn’t matter. They were married!

Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness and love! Thank you for letting me play a small part in your beautiful celebration!
