Erin & Tom’s wedding was a late addition to the calendar book this year, but I knew from my very first conversation with Erin that it was going to be something so special!
In chatting with Erin on the phone I could tell she was a vibrant, joyful, charismatic person. Yet simplistic. Her and Tom enjoy traveling & exploring, learning and experiencing together. As her father put it, so many were patiently awaiting an engagement after each travel and new experience they shared.
Their day had come! Every detail was a true reflection of Erin & her style as an interior designer! I’ve enjoyed following her design page, you should check it out! @hacketthousestudio
The neutral color palette had me swooning from the first moments of the day! I love guessing to myself what dress each bride will choose & Erin’s dress was so much of what I envisioned she would pick, although I’m sure Erin could wear literally anything and rock it! She shared in the absolute sweetest first look with her father, his eyes beamed with pride for his girl! She truly looked incredible!
I met Tom in the lobby where he greeted me with a big smile, it was obvious how excited he was for the day. He looked so great in his light grey suit & beige tie!
He and Erin shared in a private first look before we all headed to up to the Lumin to get some pre ceremony photos! As we met at the North 4th Corridor, specifically Brick & Mortar to wrap up all pre-ceremony photos since Erin & Tom wanted to mingle with their guest during cocktail hour!
Friends & Family began arriving & they were greeted with champagne & beers in what I am deeming a pre-ceremony cocktail hour! They could partake in some of the super cute puzzles that were on the tables and live music from the incredible band!!
For the Ceremony, immediate family sat in beautiful lounge arrangements while guest filled in the rows behind them. As the bridal party made their way down the aisle Tom had a smirk on his face, but as soon as Erin hit the back of the aisle that smirk grew into a smile. I watched him take in a big deep breath, almost like even just her presence brought him comfort and the ability to relax. As I turned back to Erin, standing arm & arm with her dad. She looked at him. Double checking he was ready to walk her to the love of her life. Both her and Tom exuded happiness, and the way they looked at each other as each of Erin’s steps brought them closer made it feel like they were the only two people in the garden. It was a short & sweet ceremony, their embrace after their first kiss was by far my favorite moment. Erin & Tom escaped to have a quick moment alone before joining friends & family for the post ceremony cocktail hour!
The sun set quickly and as they entered the formal reception space. The outdoor ceremony lounge area was converted to be more of an entertaining/ lounge space for post dinner mingling! The evening was started with some words from Erin’s dad. Where he unfolded a letter that she wrote as a young girl. Lines filled with very strong arguments on why she should be allowed a piercing- such strong arguments that I do believe she won approval! Toast from the maid of honor & best man, reminders of the strength of friendships and an obvious indicator of how wonderful and loved both Tom & Erin are!! Tom also got a pretty big “we love you, officially uncle tom” speech from Erin’s nieces and nephews.
My time with these two ended with dancing under the string lights in the garden, it was a magical day!! Filled with joy, love and happiness! I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to capture this day for these two incredible people! Congratulations Erin & Tom! May life bring you great travels, lots of laughs and a lifetime of love!
